About | Visit Sacramento

Sacramento is one of California’s most affordable and accessible cities, served by 150 flights daily. We are America's Farm-to-Fork Capital, which has led to the explosion of our food scene. Plans are underway to expand and renovate the 384,00-square-foot convention center to include additional exhibit and meeting space and a 40,000-square-foot ballroom. There are more than 16,000 hotel rooms; major brands include the Hyatt, Sheraton, Marriott, Kimpton, Hilton, DoubleTree, Embassy, Westin and Holiday Inn. Sacramento paves the way to success for planners and their delegates. You and your group are the big fish in a small pond—and worthy of red-carpet treatment you might not get in a bigger destination. No matter what the size of your group, we have the flexibility to cater to your specific needs. Working together with our partners, it is our goal to custom-tailor a meeting destination that’s all your own.

Speaking Of Sacramento ...

The Goldschmidt conference is held alternately in Europe and the next year anywhere else in the world so we get to see a lot of different conference centers and visitor organizations at work. The Sacramento team could not have done more to help us make the meeting the very best it could be. Their wealth of local contacts (inexhaustible) their creativity (boundless) and their efforts on our behalf (ceaseless) could not have been topped. Certainly, as organizers, they made our job to serve our delegates simple. We are very grateful for all the time and energy they put into working on the conference, they made it a pleasure to be coming in to work each morning. The conference hotels were located very conveniently for delegates and the many local bars and restaurants played their part in helping keep our delegates refreshed and ready for more science each day. From the start to the very end it has been a pleasure to work with the SCC and SCVB teams and facilities."

Sacramento had so much to offer our HPS attendees, with the many restaurants within walking distance, we had many comments on how much the attendees enjoyed being able to walk and find such a wide variety of food at all different prices. Our attendees enjoyed the many sites to see around Sacramento such as museums, parks and old town.
