Speaking Of Knoxville ...

Our company Revolution3, a triathlon race production company, was looking for a triathlon race venue that was: sports-oriented, family friendly & surrounded by an energetic community willing to embrace a World Class triathlon event – we found all that and more in Knoxville. Visit Knoxville's staff made us feel very welcome; it is a pleasure to do business with them. The University of Tennessee is also a big player in making the city come alive; they promote a large slate of sporting events from a huge track club, to a highly competitive aquatics program, to, of course, their strong football and basketball programs. My favorite thing about Knoxville is the people – friendly, active, welcoming. My first description of Knoxville was a great “little” city – and I mean that with the highest regard. Unless I am traveling out of the downtown area, when I am there on business, I can walk everywhere. The “outdoors” part of the city is gorgeous with the Volunteer Landing area along the river, the Market Square area and the greenways – I’m a runner and it is easy to move from work to work-out directly from downtown. It is an accessible city, great food and lots going on – but with a 10 minute drive you are out into the countryside, or on your way to the Smoky Mountains. Knoxville equates to city life and outdoor adventure and that makes it a great destination!

Knoxville is a very accessible destination and I like it for personal travel as it is in very close proximity to Western North Carolina and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park which is a wonderful area to visit and enjoy the great outdoors and nature and hiking. The city has a charming downtown area with many restaurants and quality shops on Gay Street. My favorite is Mast General Store where I could spend a couple of hours walking around and enjoying its terrific goods! It is a very friendly and affordable city with amazing Southern hospitality. The city is also a first-rate convention destination with the Knoxville Convention Center and great downtown hotels that provide superb meeting space and guest room accommodations fit for the needs of any conference attendee. I highly recommend this wonderful city to anyone who is looking for a long-weekend get-away or as a site for their next convention!
