Speaking Of Columbus ...

One of the events we do at each of our conferences is called ‘dinner with a local librarian’, in which attendees can sign up to dine at a local restaurant and network with others from the conference. In the past we have had poor to fair attendance and unfortunately have had to cancel some of the dinners. However, in Columbus, each of our 12 dinners actually had waiting lists, which our attendees attributed to the incredible quality and variety of dining options.

We have been hosting the Ohio Pharmacists Association Annual Conference & Trade Show in Columbus for a number of years and have seen a true revitalization within the city. The food scene in Columbus is absolutely phenomenal so this past year we added a dine-around event so our attendees, many of whom come from outlying areas and small towns, could experience the true spirit of the city through the excellent dining and entertainment options available near the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Dinner in the City, as we called it, was incredibly successful and we look forward to repeating it in 2016!

Kathy Wotruba Director of Membership and Information Services Ohio Pharmacists Association

Columbus is a great fit for our National Conference because it offers what we look for in a host city for our large event. The city is friendly, safe and easy to get around. It offers an array of fantastic restaurants, unique shops and top-notch entertainment for our attendees to enjoy during their free time. The local government and Experience Columbus are very supportive partners and easy to work with. The conference and arena facilities and hotels easily accommodate our needs. We look forward to hosting our National Conference in Columbus for many years to come.

The NACo Annual Conference hosted by Franklin County was a successful event from every aspect, socially and educationally; it was thanks to Experience Columbus we had the proper direction and support when necessary. The collaboration with the CVB and the meeting planners made an already successful format outstanding due to the attention to every detail.

Robin Dever Local Chair National Association of Counties 2017 Annual Conference

For a week, nearly 5,000 of our attendees infiltrated Columbus and enjoyed the wide variety of affordable restaurants and attractions, largely on foot! Columbus takes walkability to a completely new level. It also is a city that is friendly and welcoming to all, something that did not go unnoticed by our diverse group of delegates. Even better, Midwestern hospitality is not a myth. The service we received during our event was beyond anything I could have imagined.

Jan Sneegas Director of General Assembly and Conference Services Unitarian Universalist Association

Columbus is really an up-and-comer in the convention world. We are based here in Columbus and decades ago our leadership team made a choice to be a part of this strong and smart community as opposed to the politics of Washington. We had not had the opportunity to meet here due to space and hotel room limitations prior to the new Hilton being built downtown. Despite the obvious challenges of a renovation, it’s exciting to have been a part of this evolution of the convention package in an already amazing city. AMLE has a tremendous sense of pride in our hometown and we want to be part of the community that shows the rest of the world what an extremely progressive and fun place this is to be.

Sally Ann DeBolt [Former] Director of Meetings & Events Association for Middle Level Education

We considered a lot of destinations, including some of the largest cities in the United States, for our conference and expo. Columbus’ newly renovated convention center, walkable, vibrant districts, and abundance of entertainment options exceeded our needs and made it the best city to host our meeting. We’re thrilled to bring AudiologyNOW! to Columbus in 2019.

Exhibitors are often the ones who supports your group financially, and so for Experience Columbus to go the extra mile and thank them was really a nice extra touch for those folks.
