Speaking Of Columbia ...

The Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center is spacious enough to accommodate large groups, but it also provides intimate settings so you don’t feel swallowed up in the facility. I had never met a more friendly, enthusiastic and receptive staff than those at the convention center and Experience Columbia SC (formerly Columbia Metropolitan CVB). The gracious staff reflected Columbia’s Southern charm. Columbia is a city with deep history, yet it has a modern flare and offers activities for just about everyone. Exactly the elements you need for a successful convention.

In every single step in the meeting planning process – from receiving a proposal to onsite execution – Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center staff was one of the most professional, polished and capable staff I have worked with in many cities throughout the U.S.

Our experience at the Sheraton Columbia Downtown Hotel was wonderful... I have heard only positive comments about the amazing rooms at the Sheraton, attentive staff and attention to detail of this historic downtown building. The location was ideal. The restaurants and bars were perfect for after-hours networking, and the history of this Main Street fixture was not lost. The State Museum was a great location for our conference sessions. There was ample parking, the session rooms were well appointed, and our group appreciated the opportunity to peruse museum exhibits throughout the day. The bar has been set high after our time in Columbia. We certainly look forward to future events there.

We could not do our National Sales meeting without the help of the DMO (formerly the CVB). They are always willing to assist with event ideas, suggestions for venues, and sometimes just the support – whether a friendly smile or a quick email – goes a long way. The fact they have dealt with larger events and groups than ours and they know how to give proper guidance is reassuring. They are always ready to help.
